Common is coming to town! After celebrating his birthday on March 13th, he’s going to party all weekend post-birthday with attendees of the 2017 Jazz in the Gardens on March 18th and 19th.
Gracing the stage with the likes of Jill Scott, L.L. Cool J, Esperanza Spaulding, Chante Moore, Will Downing, Robin Thicke, and Miami’s very own Betty Wright, this Grammy-winning artist is in very good company.
Rapper, actor, film producer, poet, and activist, Common is known for his smooth lyrics and rhyming style. In case you didn’t know, he hails all the way from Chicago. He’s also known as Common Sense, and raps in a number of genres, including alternative, political, jazz and other styles.
You may remember him from the movie Just Wright, or Selma. If you’re not familiar with his music, you still have time to download his albums and find out what you’ve been missing.
Follow him on Twitter @common, and see you at #JITG17!
